Dear Fellow Pirates and Friends
Big day for the Club tomorrow with the Test at Ellis Park. We have 5 busses departing from Pirates tomorrow and the Club will be very festive as well with all the big screens up and lots of fun. The Pirates Grill will be open all day so if you are going to the game meet at Pirates for some lunch and few cold ones. If you are not going to the game then Pirates is the Place to Be to watch the game on TV.
The Club Draw was not won last Friday so the money has gone up to R2 500.00 for the next draw which will be held on Friday 1st November.
PRIZES REQUIRED FOR LADIES LUNCH
The Ladies Lunch being organised by Cheryl Van Kerkhoven and Bev Tucker is proving to be very popular and we are all looking forward to a great afternoon. We are however looking for prizes to give away to the ladies. If anyone has any prizes BIG or small that they can donate to us we would be most grateful. Pirates Sports Shop
Because of the change of Sporting we have decided to change the shop hours to the following times of when the shop will be open
Monday to Friday 08h00 – 16h30 and Saturday mornings from 08h30 – 11h30
However
Should you require anything from the shop outside these hours please give Barbara a call on 011 646 5025 and we will accommodate your needs

We have also re-stocked on the 125 Caps and Golf Shirts for both Ladies and Men’s – these are limited edition shirts and once sold out will not be available again.
MEN’S 5TH LEAGUE SQUASH SIDE WIN THEIR LEAGUE
Well done to our Squash boys who pulled off a League win this year. Below is an extract from the Captains newsletter
Went to the Big Dance and brought home the Silverware!
In what was an epic final round Championship decider between the previously top of the table Wanderers and second placed Pirates, the mighty 5th league Rats boys brought off a stunning victory to snatch the Silverware for 2013. Going into the evening 4 points behind Wanderers, Pirates managed to clinch victory on the evening by 4 points thus tying the season on level points. After several games and points count outs during which Gauteng Squash put out a few different versions of who had won the cup, it was finally settled when Gauteng Squash realised they had forgotten to push “F5” and refresh the log and Pirates were declared the 2013 – 5th league Champions, much to the delight of their long suffering fans.
Most of the post-match evening focused on trying to figure out who had actually won Silverware, as it turned out nobody knew how any count backs worked even though the evening consisted of players with a combined total of 120 years Gauteng squash experience.
Teddy spend the whole of the last match fiddling on his cellphone to try and figure out the rules and eventually catagorically declared “Pirates have Won”. Everyone else knew that Teddy really knew sweet nothing about what he was talking about and ignored him like usual

Not many changes to the Superbru this week – good luck with your picks for this week. Seabass made huge strides into getting into the top 10 – well done keep going

Pirates Junior Cricket is underway and we would like to encourage all our members to spread the word about this fantastic programme
This programme is held every Saturday morning from 09h00 – 11h00 on the Pirates Cricket fields
Boys and Girls from U7 – U13 are more than welcome to join this fantastic programme

ANNUAL POTJIEKOS COMPETITION – 9TH NOVEMBER
The annual Potjiekos Competition will be held at the Club on Saturday 9th November. This is always a wonderful day at the Club and we look forward to some great support from the members and friends. Please contact Dave in the office to enter your pot!
