Richard Connear scoring a fantastic century (135 off 149 balls)

Pirates won the toss and sent Wanderers in to Bat.
Wanderers finished on 274/6 over 50 overs
Chris Freeman claiming 2/64 in 10 overs
Pirates got off to a great start with the score on 89/1 after 14 over. Unfortunately they were bundled out of a disappointing total of 165 in just 33.3 overs
Matt Parr top scored with 30 off 39 balls

Pirates won the toss and chose to field, Randfontein started slow but after a few big shots the run rate increased. At the drinks break Randfontein were well over 100 runs, after the drinks break Pirates came out firing, bowling them out for under 200. Peter Butcher and Nick Rutherford taking 3 wickets apiece. Pirates unfortunately fell short by 40 runs, with a poor batting display.

Old Parks scored 123/10 in 38 overs
Bongo Mabaso’s figure were wonderful claiming 4/31 in 10 overs

Awesome victory by the second side, winning by 120 runs

Pirates won the toss and decided to have a bowl and what a bowling performance it was.
Pirates rattled through the Marks Park batting line up, bowling them out of just 165 in 41.2 overs

Doug Guy: 8.2 overs 2/23
Matt Parr: 10 over 2/28
Pirates then went into bat. It was a tremendous batting display with Pirates chasing the score down in just 39 overs to a secure a bonus point win.
Imeraan Fredricks top scored with a phenomenal knock of 68 not out off 108 balls
Matt Hardy (61 off 101) batted equally as well and contributed to a patient and responsible 100 run partnership.

We would like to welcome Claremont Cricket Club to Pirates this weekend for the inaugural Pirates vs Claremont pre season tour.
This weekend promises to produce some great inter-provincial club cricket, with 50 overs being played on Saturday and the 20/20 matches being contested on Sunday!
The Claremont cricket boys are really keen for this tour so it should be a phenomenal weekend.
We encourage you to pop in this weekend and enjoy good cricket, banter, food and beverages!

Well done to our very own Keaton Jenning, who has scored his 7th century of the Specsavers County Championship. Keaton is top of the list with over 1500 runs for the season.
There are rumours of him being in contention to replace Alex Hales for England’s tour to Bangladesh.

Pirates Sports & Cricket Club celebrates its 125th Anniversary next year, so in preparation for this historic event, the Cricket section is starting its High School Cricket Academy.
All cricketers from the age of 14 – 18 ate welcome to attend this academy (the juniors from Junior Cricket are all invited that are 13 and over)
Day: Every Friday Afternoon.
Timne: from 16h30
Cost: R100.00 per session
Players from the academy will be introduced to Club cricket in the Saturday & Sunday Senior GCB leagues.
All participants will receive extensive skills, technical, strategic and life skills training during the sessions.
Under the guidance of Lawrence Mahatlane, ex-Lions assistant coach & Strikers Head Coach (Level 3 qualification) and now Pirates’ Head Coach, and the coaching of Graeme Worth (Level 2) and Roger Burne (Level 1) cricketers will receive what they need to succeed in this great game.
