PIRATES COMEDY EVENING
Have you booked your tickets yet for the first Pirates comedy evening in a really long time? John Vlismas will be headlining the evening and he will be ably assisted by Alfred Adriaan in their goal of making all of you laugh your heads off. Drinks specials and tasty snacks will be on offer throughout the night for those that have managed to keep their heads attached to their neck.

The Rugby Boys did exceptionally well on Friday night in the Quarter Finals of the Pirates Grand Challenge by all advancing to the Semi Finals on Friday 18thSeptember.
The results were as follows:
* Pirates u21 48 – Randfontein u21 5
* Pirates 3rd 13 – JHB Police 3rd 5
* Pirates u19 17 – Randfontein u19 0
The Semi Final Fixtures are as follows and support for all our teams will be greatly appreciated

Upcoming playoff fixtures for ladies Prem/reserve promotion/relegation:
Please come support the Pirates 1st team ladies in their playoff matches as they try to keep their spot in the premier league. They will be playing 3 matches where the worst performing team will be relegated to reserve league. The would really like to keep their Prem spot and would appreciate as much support as possible for the games:

BARNYARD CRESTA – 50 Carat Gold – Hockey Club Fundraiser
Please book the date of Friday 23rd October in your diary to attend the Barnyard fundraiser and start getting everyone involved to book tables so we can make this a massive event. I know it is early to think about October but we have booked the date well in advance so people can put this date in their diary to support the Pirates Hockey Fundraiser.
The show is 50 Carat Gold which is top songs from all the decades – so this show caters for all ages.
Barnyard fundraisers have in the past been very eventful evenings for Pirates with lots of fun being had and many spending the rest of the evening together in Greenside afterwards.
These fundraisers help to keep our fees down so please could everyone make an effort to sell as many tickets as possible.
Tickets are R180 each.
Yes – this is in the playoffs of Rugby World Cup but there are NO RWC MATCHES that evening so you won’t miss any of the RWC action by coming to our fundraiser.
Please will everyone ask their friends, family and colleagues and come join us for an amazing night!

FROM THE OFFICE!
Just an update on a few things going on/updates etc.
Non had a call from Derek Batty on Wednesday from home. Derek requested me to send a message to all his friends from Pirates to thank them for their support and generosity during his time of illness.
Derek is home now and coping fairly well. Neville Arter is looking after him and between the two of them they are managing. He is in a very good positive mind-set and is determined to recover fully.
He is not yet up to visitors but wanted to thank EVERYONE for their support as he has no family in South Africa and the Pirates Family filled those shoes for which he is most grateful
Booking Functions at Pirates
The office has mentioned this previously in a newsletter but it is time to remind our members again.
As a paid up member of Pirates Club you are eligible to hire a facility at Pirates and receive a 50% discount on the venue hire charge.
This priviledge is for members, members spouses and children only. Friends, aunties, uncles, soon-to-be husbands or wives are unfortunately not eligible for this discount.
I trust and look forward to your understanding on this.

We’d like to introduce you to our new Craft Beer Sundays at Pirates…starting this Sunday.
We launched our first Craft Beer Sundays last week. Everyone that came had a great time, even though it was raining.
We have STReat Cuisine Gourmet food truck coming in this Sunday. Come and try some of their amazing chicken pregos.
Come and join us this Sunday.
As promised Pirates are slashing the prices of all their craft beers for Craft Beer Sunday and this will happen every Sunday whilst it remains popular – it is thus up to you to get your friends and family to join you for a day in the sun. There are lots of things for energetic kids to do around Pirates so make it a Sunday afternoon for the entire family, all generations.
