PRESIDENTS XI
Played against Khosa. Pirates batted first and put on a massive total of 364. Well done to Jason Onslow on scoring his first Pirates hundred. He ended on 104.
In an absolutely extraordinary game, Pirates managed to lose. Khosa chased down the total, it must’ve been one of the most surreal game to be in. Unlucky guys.
PREMIER LEAGUE XI
Pirates started their 20/20 campaign this past weekend and play a double header on Sunday
First game was against EP Ottermans- Pirates bowled first.
In overcast conditions the bowling was superb and EP Ottermans were bundled out for just 92.
Pirates batting got off to the worst possible start by losing both their openers for zero. After that the runs flowed and Pirates ended up winning comfortably, by seven wickets.
Well done to Doug Gird for getting 42 runs off 25 balls
The second game was in Alexandra. Pirates lost the toss and were put into bat. The innings went along steadily, but a few quick wickets fell in the middle order and Pirates needed some spark from the tail-enders, which is exactly what happened and they ended on 155 all out in 19.4 overs
Key batting performances:
Imeraan Fredricks 42 (30)
Doug Guy 31 (25)
Richard Brett 23 (16)
The opening bowler were fantastic, with Matt Parr bowling 4 overs for just 9, incredible! Alexandra were definitely not good enough for the Pirates bowling attack and eventually lost the game by 72 runs.
Well done to Alan Brown who took 3/16 in his 4 overs
