We have once again had a good intake of new members to the Club – welcome to you all we hope your association with Pirates is a good one. Please feel free to contact the office for any queries you might have.
The Club has a lovely busy weekend. We have a home rugby game on Saturday, Premier Cricket Game on Sunday and Pirates Hockey Trials Sunday (unfortunately though not on our astro L) and lots of exciting Super 15 and Six Nations Rugby to watch on the big screens.
HOCKEY TRIALS ON SUNDAY
Trials are this Sunday at Roedean. Please see the Trials plan in the table below for the times:
Pirates Hockey Trial Plan
08H00-09H10 – Mens Skulls and Rats Squads
09H15-10H30 – Ladies 3rd and 4th Squads
10H40-11H50 – Ladies 1st and 2nd Squads
12H00 – Post-Trial Braai, Mens section to Braai while the Ladies play. All members welcome to stay for a festive start to the season.
Please note that there is a social braai for everyone from 12:00. Please stay and join in the season opening social – it will be fun and a good way to get to know the new people and facilitate members in different teams getting to know each other better as well. 😉

RUGBY HOME GAME ON SATURDAY VS TUKKIES
The Rugby Boys will be playing their first home game against Tukkies on Saturday in the Assupol Competition. Play starts at 13h15 with the U21’s and 3rds. Followed by the 2nds and U19’s at 14h40
The 1st team game kicks off at 16h00. Please come down and support the boys.
The Quarterdeck will be open from 15h00 for all Old Boys to pop in and watch. Boerewors rolls will be available and there will be a cash bar.

The the organisers of Colour me Crazy Colour Run and are currently in the process of organising our next big event called the Neon Run.
The Neon Run is a 5km family Fun run at night (as well as for cyclists, skate boarders and roller bladders) ending in a music festival .

MAD2RUN – PIRATES BOYS DOING GREAT THINGS FOR OTHERS
As some of you know, and many of you will not. We have two current Pirates Rugby coaches and eight previous player are running from Jozi to Cape Town for the MAD Charity started by Francois Pienaar over 10 years ago.
They have called their team MAD2Run which is apt, considering that almost none of the guys had run more than 10km just over a year ago. You are able to find out more about the journey, click on www.mad2run.co.za or
