Hello Fellow Pirates

How the week’s fly when one is having fun – the Olympics are over 🙁 they seemed to go past so quickly. We are now back into Rugby mode with the Castle Championship Competition and the start of the Currie Cup Season. Pirates as always will be open and festive to watch the rugby this weekend. The Club is heading into a very busy September – there will be lots of on the go and many festivities for members to enjoy.

SPRINGBOKS VS ARGENTINA ON SATURDAY – 18th August

The Castle Championship Competition starts this weekend with the Springboks up against Argentina in Cape Town at 17h00. The All Blacks and Wallabies are playing in Sydney on Saturday with their game kicking off at 12h05. The Pirates Main Bar will be open and the atmosphere as usual will be good – with great food many cold beverages

Currie Cup Fixtures for the weekend

Cheetahs vs Blue Bulls tonight kick off at 19h00 in Bloem

Saturday: Griquas vs Western Province in Kimberley kick off at 14h30, Sharks vs Golden Lions in Durban kick off at 19h15

Make sure you have diarised this date and be at the Club on Friday 31st August. The Draw will take place at 18h30

Pirates Rugby play their last game of the season away vs Union on Saturday 18th August

The games will kick off at 13h15 with the 3rds and U21’s followed at 14h40 with the 2nds and U19’s and the 1st Team will kick off at 16h00. Support for the guys in their last must win encounter would be greatly appreciated. The Pirates rugby boys had a a good night out in the snow last Tuesday in their league fixture vs Alberton. The Club was icy cold and the boys played in a few bouts of snow which was great fun!!

PIRATES HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY

PIRATES IS HOSTING THE JOZI TENS RUGBY TOURNAMENT

Pirates will be hosting the Jozi Tens Rugby Tournament on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th September. This is a huge event for the Club (probably the biggest ever at Pirates) so to all members you are more than welcome to join in the fun. The warning is out there that the club will be very busy. This is a fantastic financial opportunity for the Club so your understanding is appreciated should you be inconvenienced in anyway.
