We have Mini-Hockey from 9am this Saturday. We are open for pre-entires for the road running race between 10h00 & 14h00.
We have a bus going to the Lions VS Sharks game this Saturday.

We have a bus going to the Lions VS Sharks game this Saturday at Emirates Airline Park. Tickets are R120 for the bus there and back as well as drinks included on the bus.

BOWLS
Our deck has now been refurbished and looks great. The braai unit has also been refurbished and is all set and ready for many future cooking ventures.
We are still promoting the Bowls Challenge as part of our club’s open and senior singles competitions. The R200 entry fee includes green fees and the money collected will go towards our fundraising drive towards erecting floodlights around the Pirates ( west ) green.
CRICKET
Well Done to Keaton Jennings made his first double hundred for Durham at county level. He also plays for our Pirates Cricket Premier league side.

RUGBY
Pirates have a bye this weekend.
TENNIS
3 couples from Pirates Tennis competed in the Irene Wimbledon Grass Court tennis tournament last weekend. Congratulations to Christa Cameron and Hylton Morby-Smith who won one of the 2 final sections, and came away with a winners’ check and some wine! There was also a Pimms drinking competition and although the Pirates tennis members competed, they were not winners in that competition!
SPORTS MAN’S LUNCH
Pirates Club held another very successful lunch on eve of Springboks v Ireland Test at Emirates Park where a near record turnout of 170 guests.
They were entertained by James Small and Stefan Terblanche being interviewed by David O Sullivan as well as some lovely Irish dancing.
Proceeds from the lunch went to the Rugby Section as well as the late minister of St Columba’s Presbyterian Church Chunky Young Benevolent Fund.
Richard Mac Callum gave a tribute to the late Chunky and requested for those interested in supporting the fund to please pay directly into the bank account below with reference as Pirates Club

PIRATES 10km ROAD RACE
Our 5km & 10km road race takes place this Sunday.
We have pre-entries available between 10h00 & 14h00 on Saturday, alternatively if you may also enter from 6am on Sunday morning before the race.
Entry is R80 for the 10km and R60 for the 5km. A temporary licence is R20 for the 10km race only.
CLUB DRAW
We held our monthly club draw last Friday and the names drawn were:
1 – Mike Swartz
2 – Clive Main
3 – Gavin Coutts
Unfortunately none of these people were there so the pot moves up to R4000.00 and will be held on the 29th of July.
