Dear Fellow Pirates and Friends

Well well well what can I say about the Ladies Lunch – it was a huge success and so much fun with an awesome Guest Speaker.  Thanks so much to Cheryl Van Kerckhoven and Bev Tucker for organising the lunch and a HUGE thank you to Killarney Toyota for their sponsorship of the event. A definite for the  calendar next year.

We look forward to seeing many members at the Club tomorrow for the Currie Cup Semi-Finals which should be great games.  GO LIONS!!!

The Gala Dinner is upon us – Are you joining us?

The event is developing into a fantastic occasion.  We are very happy to have Peter Winterbottom joining us for the evening, thanks so much to Piet Van Blerk for sponsoring his flight

Graeme Joffe is our MC and “Important Pirates People” are our panel of speakers.  Abbot and Crabb will be entertaining us so all looks great for a wonderful evening

ANNUAL POTJIEKOS COMPETITION – 9TH NOVEMBER – have you entered your pot?

The annual Potjiekos Competition will be held at the Club on Saturday 9th November.  This is always a wonderful day at the Club and we look forward to some great support from the members and friends.  Dave is waiting for your call – so don’t delay and call today!!!!

NATIONAL BOWLS AWARENESS DAY

Pirates Bowls Club will be holding this day at the club on Sunday 27 October 2013.  

This day is aimed at being a family fun day to introduce family, friends, colleagues and kids of all ages to the game of bowls.

Dress is casual with soft shoes or kaalvoet (bare feet!).

Entry fee is R15 which includes a boerie roll.   Time is 9.30am to 12 noon.

PIRATES CRAFT BEER CLUB (PCBC)

PCBC hosted their third monthly beer tasting evening last night.  Pirates newest section is up and running nicely and there are some interesting things in the pipeline.

For those of you that haven’t been able to attend one of the evenings yet I really suggest that you come down to the club for the next one.  The monthly beer tastings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month and as the name suggests PCBC get a different microbrewery each month to talk to the attendees about their brews.  These sessions are really beneficial to those people who have a love for beer, or even those people that just have a big thirst.  Entrance fee for the evening is R50 which gets you your tasting beers and a light meal.

Next PCBC evening they are hosting SMACK! Republic Brewing Co.  Date is 14 November 2013 @ 7pm
