Dear Fellow Pirates and Friends What a fantastic weekend we had at the Club last weekend with the Cricket Festival.  Barry Skjoldhammer organised a fantastic event and it was superb to see so many of the Old Rats members again.  It is the Club Draw tonight at 6.30pm and a Bus is going to Ellis Park for the Lions vs Sharks game.  Tomorrow will again be festive and the Place to Be to watch the Springboks.

PIRATES JUNIOR CRICKET IS UNDERWAY

Pirates Junior Cricket is underway and we would like to encourage all our members to spread the word about this fantastic programme. This programme is held every Saturday morning from 09h00 – 11h00 on the Pirates Cricket fields. Boys and Girls from U7 – U13 are more than welcome to join this fantastic programme Price for the Season R1200.00 seasonal membership which includes a Pirates Cap and Shirt Or R100.00 per Saturday morning for casual Membership. For further information please contact Liam Gallagher on 071 160 4378

BASEBALL NEWS

Well done to Neil Smith who was awarded Gauteng Baseball Clubs Chairman’s Choice – Baseball Legend at the Gauteng Baseball Federation Annual Awards. Fantastic Neil well done you are certainly a Pirates Legend. The Baseball Team came 4th in the League for Season Here is Neil with his wife, and son Jason and daughter in-law Roxy at Comrades this year being a great supporter. baseball

PRIZES REQUIRED FOR LADIES LUNCH

The Ladies Lunch being organised by Cheryl Van Kerkhoven and Bev Tucker is proving to be very popular and we are all looking forward to a great afternoon.  We are however looking for prizes to give away to the ladies.   If anyone has any prizes BIG or small that they can donate to us we would be most grateful.  A bottle of wine, a bar of soap, a weekend away!! Because of the change of Sporting we have decided to change the shop hours to the following times of when the shop will be open Monday to Friday 08h00 – 16h30 and Saturday mornings from 08h30 – 11h30 However Should you require anything from the shop outside these hours please give Barbara a call on 011 646 5025 and we will accommodate your needs. We have some lovely ‘only available at Pirates Sports Shop’ jewellery – see the great jewellery below. We have also re-stocked on the 125 Caps and Golf Shirts for both Ladies and Men’s – these are limited edition shirts and once sold out will not be available again. jewellery1     jewellery2

Pirates Gala Dinner – Friday 25th October – Sandton Sun Hotel

Thank you to all the members who have come back to let me know they are taking a table for the Dinner.  This will be a fantastic event and we look forward to the support of all our members past and present for the event.

ANNUAL POTJIEKOS COMPETITION – 9TH NOVEMBER

The annual Potjiekos Competition will be held at the Club on Saturday 9th November.  This is always a wonderful day at the Club and we look forward to some great support from the members and friends.  Please contact Dave in the office to enter your pot! potjiekjos comp

  4. Club Draw at 6.30pm – R2000.00 to be won

Saturday:

  1. Jozi Market from 08h30
  2. Griquas vs Blue Bulls in Kimberley – Kick off at 14h00
  3. Springboks vs Australia in Cape Town – Kick off at 17h00
  4. All games will be on the big screens at Pirates in the Main Bar

We look forward to seeing many people down at the Club over the weekend.
