Pirates has had a busy month celebrating milestones – last week we celebrated the Beer Club’s 1st Birthday and last night we celebrated the Wine Club’s 10th Birthday and what fun we had. If you do not belong to either of these Clubs you are really missing out so let me know if you would like to be on the database to receive the notices of tastings.
The Buccaneer Ale has been a huge success and I hope everyone has given it a taste. The Club has been over whelmed by the interest in this Ale. The best part about it is that it is a very nice beer at a very nice price. R20.00 for 500ml. Get down soon and give it a try as we have finished 2 kegs and have only 1 left until the new batch arrives.
Don’t forget the Club Draw next Friday 29th August R3 575.00 to be won. See you all there at 18h30
ROAD RUNNING DO THEIR BIT FOR CHARITY
Pirates Club is a truly wonderful place because not only do our members give up an enormous amount of their time for the improvement and success of the Club but they also do their bit for Charity. Every year the Road Running Section hosts the Famous Hat Race on the 16th December and proceeds from this race always go to a Charity. Road Running have chosen Marang House as their Charity as the 21km Race passes this home so it is very much in our neighbourhood. Below is a photo of the Committee handing over a cheque for R25 000.00 to Marang House
PIRATES WINE CLUB TURNED 10 YEARS OLD
The Wine Club celebrated in style last night to mark the milestone of being around for 10 years. We had a wonderful evening tasting Graham Beck Wines and Bubbly with the very famous Peter ‘Bubbles’ Ferreira presenting to us. Wine Club has been fantastic to Pirates over the years and once again they have come to party with the fantastic outdoor furniture they purchased for the Club this week. THANK YOU WINE CLUB and all your wonderful members. To Elaine Clingman who is the driving force behind this Club, thank You for your hard work in maintaining such wonderful standards that the Club has just grown from strength to strength over the 10 years.
