The Club hosted a very successful 10km Road Race on Sunday. Well done to the Road Running Committee for organising such a great run. Thanks to all the members who supported this event. Cricketers don’t forget about your AGM on Monday night.
RUGBY VS ROODEPOORT TONIGHT @ PIRATES
Pirates Rugby are hosting Roodepoort at Pirates tonight in the Pirates Grand Challenge
Games start at 18h15 with the 3rds and U21’s, followed by the 2nds and U19’s at 19h40 and the 1st Team at 21h00
There will be live music at the Club so pop in to watch and have a party too
JUNIOR RUGBY HOSTING HASTINGS BOYS SCHOOL FROM NEW ZEALND
Pirates Junior Rugby are very excited to be hosting Hastings Boys School from New Zealand on Sunday 13th July at the Club.
We will have an afternoon of great rugby with our U10 and U11’s playing in Curtain Raisers for the main game which is our U16 and U17 team combined.
This game kicks off at 14h00. It would be fantastic to have many Pirates supporters down for the game and to show our Kiwi friends what an awesome club we have and of course to make some new friends
WALK THE TALK – SUNDAY 27TH JULY
Pirates has very kindly been offered to man a water table at the 702 Walk the Talk on Sunday 27th July at the Greenside Primary School.
What is required from Pirates is 40 able adults who can work at the table. For this effort the Club will receive R11k which will go directly to the Deck Fund.
The details of times etc have not yet been supplied and these will be given as soon as we hear from them.
I am therefore appealing to our members to please volunteer to work at the event.
If you are able to help please will you email Glynis Mauldon so that she can collate the names for us.
If we do not have 40 adults we do NOT get paid so please volunteer and help raise some easy money
SUPPORT LADIES HOCKEY AT THEIR FLIGHT PARTY on 26th JULY- PLEASE
Pirates Ladies 2nd side have come up with a great idea to raise some money for the Hockey Section and are hosting a Flight Party. Below are the details and the flyer attached
They will be holding a Flight Party at the Pigeon house on Saturday the 26th July from 18:00. The cost is R200 per ticket and that includes dinner, a drink and some shooters.
This promises to be lots of fun. There will be in flight entertainment, music and keep your ticket number handy and you could get lucky. 😉

PIRATES BEER CLUB – THURSDAY 17TH JULY
As we enter the 2nd half of the year we are pleased to announce the hosting of one of South Africa’s largest and oldest microbreweries. For many of you Mitchell’s Brewery and their beers will need no introduction! Started all the way back in 1983 in Knysna they have a long established history with many tales to tell. They are distributed nationwide and many of you would have spotted the Mitchell’s Pub in the V&A Waterfront.
They are going to be bringing 4 beers for us to taste on the evening.
Details of the evening are as follows:

- Entrance Fee – R50 for members / R80 for non-members (includes light meal and tasting beers)
