Hi there Pirates Friends

Thanks so much to everyone we attended the Club Draw – the money was not won so next month you stand a chance of winning R3 075.00.

Pirates had the busiest day ever on Saturday so thanks so much to all our members for coming to the Club and enjoying the great event.

The Main Club will be open for all the Super 15 games this weekend and of course the Quarter-Finals of the Soccer World Cup. Look forward to seeing our members at the Club

PIRATES 10KM ROAD RACE – THIS SUNDAY @ 08h00

The Road Running Section will once again be hosting the 10km Road Race at the Club on Sunday

We look forward to a great day at the Club on Sunday so as members please come down and support the Club

THE NEW AWNINGS ARE UP AND LOOK GREAT

The Club has had new awnings erected on the patio and they look so good.

This whole project was sponsored by the Pirates Wine Club. Thank you so much to Elaine Clingman for all the hard work she puts into the Wine Club and because of her hard work the Wine Club is able to put so much back into the Club. Thank you so much!!!

PIRATES BEER CLUB – THURSDAY 17TH JULY

As we enter the 2nd half of the year we are pleased to announce the hosting of one of South Africa’s largest and oldest microbreweries. For many of you Mitchell’s Brewery and their beers will need no introduction! Started all the way back in 1983 in Knysna they have a long established history with many tales to tell. They are distributed nationwide and many of you would have spotted the Mitchell’s Pub in the V&A Waterfront.

They are going to be bringing 4 beers for us to taste on the evening.

Details of the evening are as follows:

  1. Brewery – Mitchell’s Brewery
  2. Date – 17th July 2014
  3. Time -19:00
  4. Entrance Fee – R50 for members / R80 for non-members (includes light meal and tasting beers)

SOCIAL SOCCER AFTERNOON SUNDAY 13TH JULY

The Soccer Section will be hosting an Inter-Section 5-a side Soccer tournament on Sunday 13th July

This will be held from 15h00 to 18h00 so that you finish your Soccer just in time to watch the Closing Ceremony of the Soccer World Cup and then of course to stay for the Final.

What you need to do:

  1. Form a team of 5 to not more than 7 people (mixed teams are perfect) from people within your section
  2. The cost will be R20.00 per person and teams will receive a free shooter to set the tone
  3. Paul from the Soccer Section will have a playing format which will be so much fun and quick so even if you have never played soccer before you will have fun
  4. There will be a few spot prizes for various ‘things’ that happen during the afternoon
  5. The Brazilian Soccer Schools will also be doing exhibition tricks of what they have learnt from playing at the Brazilian Soccer School
