Rugby Section
Founded more than a century ago in 1888, Pirates Club in Greenside is the oldest sports club in Gauteng and one of the three oldest clubs in the country.
Pirates Rugby Club is steeped in tradition. The club aims to serve the surrounding community, and be a place for families to come.
Cricket Section
Pirates enter seven teams into the Gauteng Cricket Board senior leagues each season. We have always been a competitive club and this shows in the number of league titles to our name, from the Premier League to the Saturday 2 league.
Mens Hockey Section
The Pirates men’s hockey section is made up of 3 teams that offer a unique competitive and social environment. Brotherhood and a unique playing experience is what you can expect at the Pirates Hockey club.
Tennis Section
Pirates Tennis Club is situated in Cruden Bay Road, Greenside, opposite the Main Club. The tennis club has 6 courts, 2 with flood lights and a clubhouse with a bar. Social tennis is played on Wednesday afternoons from 16h00 till approximately 18h00, on Saturday afternoons from 14h00 till approximately 17h00, and on Sunday mornings from 10h00 till 12h00. Non members are able to join us for social and would pay a daily visitors fee.
