The Potjiekos and Gourmet Fest went well last Saturday – the weather was fantastic and it was wonderful under the trees. We have another busy weekend planned for this weekend with our Christmas Club Draw on Friday and Springboks vs Wales on Saturday. We look forward to seeing our members at the Club to support.

PIRATES CHRISTMAS CHARITY DRIVE
Pirates Cricket has for the last 20 years been teaching children from the Inner City of Johannesburg to play crickets. This is one of the most successful cricket development programmes in the Country. These children come from very impoverished backgrounds and are requesting the most basic needs as per the attached wish list. I do realise that many members are very involved in Charities which is fantastic, but I also know there are many members who would love to give but are not always sure how or where.
Pirates is solving that problem for you. There will be a big Christmas Box in the Main Club where members and friends can put their goods. They need magazines for projects, gently used clothes and shoes are a very popular item for these children. Thank you Pirates members and friends in advance for supporting this Charity which is close to the heart of Pirates.
POTJIEKOS COMPETITION 2014 WINNERS
The 3 pots that entered the Competition and won great prizes and we all ended up having a wonderful afternoon at the Club. Well done to Dave Case and his EFF team for winning the Competition, Nic La Mura and his team came 2nd with the rugby boys headed up by Dale Swanepoel came 3rd by 1 point. Thanks to these teams for supporting us it is greatly appreciated.
BOOKKEEPER POSITION AVAILABLE @ PIRATES
The Club is looking for a full time Bookkeeper to start in the middle of January (if possible) or beginning of February.

LAST SPRINGBOK GAME FOR 2014
The Springboks will be playing against Wales this Saturday and the Main Bar will be open for all members to come through and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere. The England vs Australia game will be shown in the Old Bones so everyone is welcome to the Club on Saturday

Pirates Annual Pub Run – 2nd December – you can still join in
The Road Running Section is trying to keep pace with technology so to register for the pub run please complete the very short questions in this form (should take less than 1 minute). The information provided will enable us to arrange catering and also pre-order the drinks to ensure that they are nice and cold when the runners arrive.
It is not a requirement for a runner to be a Pirates member so please forward on to all your friends/family/colleagues that may be interested. We just request that they all register using the link.
As the pub run is on a Tuesday there won’t be a time trial on that day. I’m looking for a couple of helpers so if there are any injured runners that can volunteer please get in touch with me. Any questions can be addressed to me at dcase@magwitch.co.za
