What a wonderful day we had at the Club on Saturday – the Club was busy from 7.30 in the morning until late into the evening.  Thank you to all our members who supported the Club.  Tonight is the Club Draw there is R1 500.00 to be won so come down and stand a chance of winning

It is the Club Draw tonight Friday 28th June in the Main Bar.  R1 500.00 to be won if you are paid up and present at the Club.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

PIRATES 10KM ROAD RACE – Sunday 7th july

Pirates Road Running are once again hosting their Annual 10km Road Race on Sunday 7th July.  If you are able to help in anyway with marshalling, selling entries or working at a water table please offer your services to the Road Running Section by sending an email to Tracey Mckay on traceymc@uj.ac.za This is always a very well organised and well attended race.  Please support the Club if and where you can.

LADIES HOCKEY

The 1st Ladies Hockey side had a great win against UJ on Saturday beating them 3 -2  and on Tuesday evening they drew 4 – 4 with Wanderers.  Well done ladies a great start to the Top 6 League

There is a break in the hockey fixtures during the School holidays so no hockey fixtures for a few weeks

CRICKET AGM – THURSDAY 4TH JULY

Please take note that the Cricket AGM is taking place on Thursday 4th July in the Pirates Old Bones at 18h30

It is the right thing to do so attend your AGM and make a difference.

PIRATES IS LAUNCHING A CRAFTERS BEER CLUB

Pirates is launching a Crafters Beer Club in August.  The first tasting will be Thursday 15th August at Pirates

Watch this space for more details but it is going to be fun and you will get to taste some different crafters beer from around Gauteng.

PIRATES LEASE

As we all know there is plenty of uncertainty around leases for Sports Clubs in Johannesburg.  The lease presented to the Club was rejected by those present at the AGM.  Pirates is  now engaging with the Sports Council of Gauteng as well as Senior Council for legal advice as to how to proceed with the matter.  All members can be assured that the management committee, along with the lease sub committee are attending to the matter with the utmost urgency and any further developments will be relayed to our members

The Sports Shop has some great Pirates clothing in the store – pop in sometime to have a look.

We have Pirates Hoodies in stock as per picture below.  These hoodies cost R250.00.

Super Rugby is back and there is lots to watch this Saturday and of course the British Lions Test
