“The Pirates Club is one of the pioneers in the establishment of grass grounds in Johannesburg. To-day the old traditions are being continued and most of the Witwatersrand University students upon leaving link up with The Pirates Club. The Club has been fortunate in the continued interest of its older members and amongst those responsible for the present maintenance of the old traditions are Messrs. JH Crosby, EM Hind, EH Francis, M Kneen, MC van Buuren, AC Bleksley, JH Tandy and many others”

- Christmas Sportsman’s Lunch CANCELLED
- Social Hockey every TUESDAY evening on Pirates Astro from 19h00. Everyone welcome so come down for a good run and some fun
- Pirates 125 Birthday Launch Party on Friday 25th January 2013 – an event not to be missed so diarise NOW
- Pirates Junior Cricket is well underway but new players are always welcome it is held every Saturday morning from 09h00
- Jozi Market – held EVERY Saturday morning at the Club from 08h30 to 13h00. Wonderful stalls to buy from so pop down and see what is on offer.
