Good Morning Fellow Pirates
The end of the year has arrived for me and I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single member who has made a positive contribution to the Club this year.
It has been a fantastic year for the Club with many great events and improvements taking place. The management and staff of the Club are so looking forward to the new year with more great improvements in the pipeline which will only make Pirates so much more fun and will be in keeping with our slogan Pirates ‘The Place to Be’
We have one more function before we can say goodbye to 2014 and that this the much anticipated Annual Hat Race which takes place on Tuesday 16th December. We would like to encourage all members and friends still in Jo’burg over this time to please come down and support this fun-filled event.

A year like we had this year does not happen without very hard and dedicated work. I would like to thank all the staff at Pirates for their hard work throughout the year. No party or function was too big or too small for Pirates and we accommodated everyone when and where possible which resulted in a very successful and busy year.
Thanks so much to Jeanne for her hard work and fantastic decorating and gardening flare which she brought to the Club this year – your hard work is paying off with the Club looking great and soooo many parties
Thanks to Glynis for always stepping in to help at the Club when the going got tough. Your help was invaluable to the Club
To Peter who has taken over the grounds and made sure our fields and surrounds are such great condition for which we receive many compliments
None of this would be possible without our very faithful and patient barman because without bar sales we have no money.
The cleaners and groundstaff have worked so hard this year and nothing has been too much trouble or too hard to tackle. In the words of Innocent life at Pirates is ‘Stress Free’ so they just get on with the job
Thanks to a great team of workers and I look forward to working with you all again in 2015.
CLUB HOURS OVER THE FESTIVE SEASON
The Club will be closing for business for 2014 on Sunday 21st December and re-open on Sunday 4th January 2015
The Bowls Club will be open throughout the Season and only close on Christmas and New Year’s Day

2015 MEMBERSHIP
I am sure you all got the details of the membership structures for 2015 – here they are again.

- Single Membership R1,500 | R140
- Married couple R2 700 | R250
- Full-time Student and under 23 R 750 | R70
- Pensioners over 60 years R 750 | R70
- 5 Year Membership R7,000
Yes! We are offering a once-off opportunity to lock in fees at 2014 rates for 5 years! Because all Main Club Subs will now be allocated 100% to capex projects only, the quicker we get the funds in, the sooner we will complete the projects, so we encourage all that can afford this to take advantage of the opportunity and further assist their Club! On a conservative inflation estimate over the period the 5 Year Membership will result in the member enjoying a 10% per annum discount or R1 500 over the entire period.
NB: With the newly installed Point of Sale system (POS) paid up members will receive substantial discount on bar, and hire pricing of up to 25%, but not less than 15% (may vary by items). Encourage friends, family and junior section parents to join to take advantage of this value! If you spend R500 p/m at the club on drinks and/or venue hire the saving is equal to annual membership!
