Dear Fellow Pirates and Friends

Thanks to everyone who supported the Sportsman’s Lunch and the Gourmet Festival last weekend.  Both events were a great success and I am constantly reminded of what a great Club Pirates is.

At the Sportman’s Lunch on Friday our dear friend Chunky Young was a guest at the lunch from St Columbus Church.  He mentioned to the guests that he was involved in a school in Zimbabwe and had been for many years and that he was now trying to raise money to open a High School there.  Within 5 minutes the hearts of Pirates opened and we raised R20 000.00 for Chunky and his school in Zimbabwe – how awesome is that?

Steve Braham attended Church the following Sunday and this is his message to Pirates members

Chunky gave us a lovely mention in Church this morning about how fantastic we are as not only a club but as people and how he was overcome by the generosity shown for the School in Zimbabwe and that in four minutes we raised Twenty thousand rand.  Well done Pirates

Here are some photos of our guests enjoying the Gourmet Festival at the Club on Saturday

Club Draw Friday Night

Friday 29th November.  Draw will take place at 6.30pm and there is R1 750.00 to be won – be there to win. We will also be having a farewell party for Dave at the Draw on Friday –  please come along and bid farewell to Dave. Dave will be working until the 20th December but it is the perfect opportunity for the members to say farewell.

See you all there

Well done to all our Pirates 94.7 Riders

Here are the results of the 94.7 on Sunday.  Well done to all our riders.  Bad luck to Alyna Wyatt and Paul Vlaming who both were involved in accidents and unfortunately did not finish the ride.  I am happy to announce though that they are both fine and injuries were not too serious.

Pirates Hat Race

Pirates Road Running will be holding their Annual Hat Race on Monday 16th December from 08h00. Flyer below with details.

This is a charity race and all proceeds go to a Charity and this year the chosen Charity is Pirates Club because of it being our 125th year.

The Club is very grateful to Road Running for this very kind gesture.  We are hoping to be able to put a deck out from the patio with the money raised.

So

Tell all your friends about this race and get them down to the Club for a morning of great fun – with the famous Beer Table along the way.
