PIRATES 21km – SUNDAY 15th FEBRUARY This is one not to be missed
Pirates Road Running are hosting the 37th edition of the Pirates Half Marathon on the 15th February 2015. Their big objective this year is to make the race a community event and they are calling all local businesses, churches, schools and residents to come out and show their support on the day. Their aim is to be able to claim the first community driven road race within South Africa with only the two biggest races (Comrades & 2 Oceans) really enjoying any road side support within our country. They are especially focusing on the local businesses to come get involved in Joburg’s Toughest Half Marathon by branding sections of the route that is closest to their premises. It is a great marketing opportunity for businesses as not will they only be advertising their brand to the runners that come past but also to the residents that come out and support.
The race entry fee is R90 and new start time of 6am. There will be a number of food offerings and kids’ entertainment at the club on the day so maybe make a family day out of the event.

The Club is hiring out the car park to Design Centre from 08h00 to 17h00 week days for their students to park. There will be two permanent car guards looking after their cars and they will park from the pedestrian gate to the park towards the Pigeon House. We hoping that this might become a popular parking spot for the students so as to make the club a bit of money and we have extra security during the day.
