Club House
Message from Hylton
As part of our club house upgrade, Janet has very kindly arranged for all the names that were on the honours boards in the clubhouse to be officially recorded on paper.
We would like to ask all members to help us to fill in the gaps if they can. A copy of the spreadsheet with the information will be e-mailed to all members, and will also be available at the club for review.
We are now one step closer to being able to submit these to the Main Club for inclusion on the Tennis part of the website where they will live forever.
Please help us in recording our history!

Putting a roof over our head this Mandela Day
As our members may already be aware, we plan to host a Nelson Mandela Day event at the tennis club this year where members will be asked to pledge their time or contribute financially to help our community upgrade the facilities at the club.
While we have many needs, we feel that repairing the roof is a priority before the rainy season is yet again upon us. To this end, we need to do a lot on the day to raise enough money and we would really appreciate your support.
While some of the smaller repairs are being done inside the club – hopefully by of our big, strapping members 🙂 – we plan to run a jumble sale and, alongside it, a soup kitchen in the carpark. All the proceeds from this will go towards the roof repairs. We cannot, however, have a jumble sale without items to sell, and this is where once again we need the help of our Pirates Tennis community.
Over the next few weeks please would you dig deep into your hearts and wardrobes and clear out any items you no longer need. Clothes, shoes, books, toys – absolutely anything – would be much appreciated. Starting immediately, your donations can be dropped off at the clubhouse and we’ll make a box available for this.
Thanks everyone for your ongoing support.
