The Club Draw was not won last Friday as Benj Hunt whose name came out first and Brian Leask, whose name came out second were not at the Club. SO next month you stand a chance of winning R3 575.00. Diarise the date now for the next Club Draw – Friday 29th August.

RUGBY TEAMS IN SEMI’S THIS SATURDAY 2ND AUGUST

Three of the Pirates rugby teams have made it into the play-offs of the Pirates Grand Challenge League.

Below are the Fixtures

  1. Under 21 at Raiders Rugby Club – UJ vs. Pirates. Kick Off: 14:40
  2. 3rd Team at Wanderers Rugby Club – Pirates vs. Union Kick Off: 13:00
  3. Under 19 Team at Wanderers Rugby Club – Pirates vs. Roodepoort Kick Off: 16:15

The Boys will really appreciate some great support from Pirates. See you at Raiders and Wanderers

702 WALK THE TALK

Thank you so much to everyone who braved the cold and helped the Club raise money by helping at the 702 Walk the Talk. Here is a message from our Station Captain, who was someone not from Pirates who had to make sure we did our job properly!! This was sent to Glynis Mauldon who was the Pirates Captain. Thanks so much Glynis for all your hard in getting this all together – much appreciated.

The August Tasting on the 14th will represent the end of the first year of existence of the Pirates Craft Beer Club and in order to celebrate the occasion we have organized our biggest evening yet!!

4 BREWERIES EACH ONE BRINGING A SINGLE RANGE OF THEIR BEERS IN ORDER TO COMPETE FOR YOUR VOTES

You, the Attendee, get to vote on your favourite beer of the evening with the winning brewery getting to take home a fantastic trophy and bragging rights for a year!!

In addition to this we will be launching Pirates very own Craft Beer on the evening – Buccaneer Ale.

Hi all

On behalf of the Pirates Tennis Club Committee, a big thank you to everyone who supported our Mandela Day initiative. You came out in full force and the attendance way exceeded our expectations! A special thanks to the people who brought their family and friends along to help. We made great progress in cleaning up the club house, which is slowing starting to look great.

Working together we are confident that Pirates Tennis Club is on its way to being a GREAT place to be!

PIRATES RUGBY DINNER

The Rugby Section had a wonderful Awards Dinner on Friday night at the Club.

The Main Award Winners for the evening were:

  1. Player of the Year: – Martin Scheepers
  2. Clubman of the Year: – Sheldon Terblanche
  3. Pirate of the Year: – Owen Murphy

The venue was decorated superbly and this was done by Jeanne from the office. The Rugby boys were blown away by how the Club looked.

If anyone would like to hire the services of Jeanne to help with any party please give her a shout and she will decorate like you would never believe. Have a look below
