Good Day Pirates Members and Friends
Thank you to everyone who supported the Sportsman’s lunch last Friday. It was a fantastic afternoon of many laughs. Thanks very much to Steve Braham and the Old Boys for putting this together. Thank you very much to our speakers, Hugh Page, Steven Jack, Ken Rutherford and Rod McCurdy for giving their time so generously to the Club .
Please remember that the Club has great wine available behind the bar. Every month we will feature the Wine Club Wine of the month. This wine will be available from behind the bar for the month after the Wine Club to give members a chance to taste the great wines presented at the Tasting. This month we have Provenance Rooi 2010 and Provenance Sauvignon Blanc 2012, ask the barmen and they will help you.
VODACOM CUP GAME AT PIRATES on saturday
The Club is hosting the Lions Vodacom Cup Team on Saturday 9th March.
This is a great honour for our Club and we would like to appeal to all our members to support this match.
The Lions will be playing against the Leopards
Kick off is at 15h00

A RUGBY FESTIVAL AT THE CLUB
To continue with the celebrations the rugby club is hosting a Rugby Festival on Saturday 16th March. There is a great line up of teams and this promises to be a fantastic day at the Club. Please support the Club and be there!
Have you tasted the Special Wine Club wine?
The Wines being offered this month are Provenance Rooi 2010 and Provenance Sauvignon Blanc 2012. Ask the Barmen for the Wine Club Wine of the Month and give it a try. Next Wine Tasting will be on Thursday 14th March and we will be tasting De Waal Wines. Contact Non if you are keen to attend these tastings.
2013 Hockey season is getting underway
The Pirates Hockey Season is gearing up for a wonderful Season. Here are the details for the Season
Women’s 1st and 2nd trials Sunday 10th and Monday 11th March – TIME and LOCATION TBC
Women’s 3rds and 4ths trials/season kick off – Wednesday 13th March at Pirates Astro from 6.30pm – Practice is on Wednesdays for the season from 6.30pm
Men’s Season start date is Thursday 7th March, 7pm at Pirates Astro – Men’s practices are on Thursdays at Pirates
Social Hockey will continue every Tuesday at the Club from 19h00 until Trials start.

MINI HOCKEY GOT OFF TO A GREAT START
This is for U5 to U13 Boys and Girls. Mini Hockey starts this weekend so bring your children down to enjoy learning about the great game of hockey. Practices are held on Saturday mornings from 09h00 – 10h30
